The Glasgow School of Art has established Rural Lab at our Highlands & Islands Campus as a dynamic space where creative practice and academic research converge, shaping innovative and sustainable solutions within rural contexts, communities, ecologies and economies.

Through cross-disciplinary collaboration and partnership Rural Lab encourages new ways of thinking about sustainable growth, embracing and emphasising the importance of rural traditions, craft and making in future focussed sectors such as space, bio and AI.

This new portfolio of research will be distributed across Scotland in the Highlands and Islands, South of Scotland and Glasgow and will include the establishment of a pioneering doctoral community connecting across these regions.

We are looking for 2x Research Fellows who have a track record of creative practice research, material innovation and regenerative design to contribute to this exciting new development at The Glasgow School of Art.

These roles can be based at our Highlands & Islands Campus or in Glasgow.
