Grade 7, £44,128 - £55,755 per annum pro rata

28 hours/35 hours per week

Applications are invited for 2x Lecturers in Postgraduate Communication Design in the School of Design.

 

As a Lecturer in Communication Design (Postgraduate) you will undertake an appropriate balance of teaching, assessment, programme, course and curriculum development, related administration and pastoral duties. As well as lecturing your role will involve assisting the Programme Leader in the effective management of the postgraduate programmes in Communication Design and acting as a deputy as required. The post requires excellent knowledge of Communication Design practice in both Graphic Design and Illustration with an excellent knowledge of typography, publication design, and a wide-ranging knowledge of contemporary Communication Design practice.

 

You will be qualified to a minimum of Degree level in a relevant discipline, preferably to Masters Level, and will be able to demonstrate a high level of professional experience. You will have industry experience and experience of teaching at postgraduate and/or undergraduate levels within Higher Education.

 

You will have an excellent understanding of current debates, trends and issues, in the specialist areas of Graphic Design and Illustration, with an excellent general knowledge of Communication Design techniques, including traditional making and digital technologies.

 

We would particularly welcome applicants with experience in teaching both Graphic Design and Illustration. Optionally, with experience of film-making, photography, animation and/or creative coding. Diversity is welcome in applicants.

 

Please note that these will primarily be teaching posts, with research opportunities only available if the roles are to be extended or made permanent.
