Contract: 24 months Fixed Term, 28 hours per week
The Glasgow School of Art is seeking to appoint a Programme Leader
to provide academic leadership for its new one-year Master of Design (MDes) in
Silversmithing and Jewellery programme and its curriculum, launching in
September 2026.

university-level institutions in the visual creative disciplines. Based in the
heart of Glasgow with connections across the globe, our studio-based teaching
and world-leading research spans art, design, architecture, innovation and
technology, making a significant difference to contemporary society.
The Glasgow School of Arts Silversmithing and
Jewellery department has its origins in the Glasgow Government School of Design
1845. The undergraduate programme has a world-class reputation and the
addition of a masters level has been long awaited. We look forward to receiving
applications to lead this exciting new master's level programme.
The postholder will lead all
aspects of the programme, ensuring an inclusive, student-centred and
academically rigorous learning experience that prepares graduates to contribute
to contemporary design practice and discourse. The role will ensure the
programme remains current, outward-facing and informed by developments across
academic and creative sectors.
The post contributes to the wider
success of the School of Design and GSA, including postgraduate development,
research and knowledge exchange, and active participation in the School of
Design Senior Management Team.
