School of Architecture at the Glasgow School of Art are
seeking to appoint a
Senior Lecturer
to provide academic
leadership and co-ordination and contribute to the teaching of
Architectural Technology (AT)
at Diploma and Masters levels.
This
post will have
responsibility for developing, co-ordinating and delivering the curriculum,
ensuring a high-quality teaching and learning environment, as well as providing
specialist input to both BArch and DipArch programmes and contributing to the integration
of AT in the studio at all levels.
As well as contributing to high
quality teaching,
the successful candidate will
also undertake research at a high level, have REF level outputs and contribute
to the activity of the Mackintosh Environmental Architecture Research Unit (MEARU), bringing
skills and insight to complement
and enhance the work of the Unit.
A passion for teaching and studio
culture is essential, as are high level research skills, including production
of high-level research outputs, along with the ability
to generate research funding.
Ideally, you will also have significant expertise
in structures and tectonics in an architectural context.
You
should possess a recognised doctoral or specialised postgraduate qualification
in architecture, architectural technology or a relevant discipline or be able to demonstrate exceptional
comparable academic or industry / practice skills and experience. You will also have experience of
teaching and curriculum development within Higher Education, and the management
of academic delivery and personnel. You should have an exemplary understanding
of what constitutes a high-quality learning and teaching environment, and a
thorough appreciation of the administrative and logistical issues that underpin
studio-based learning.
