Metalwork Technician – 3D Making (1.0FTE)
Fixed Term - 6 months
Grade 5 (£27,025 - £31,302 per annum)
The Technical Support Department is seeking to appoint a Metalwork Technician – 3D Making who will enjoy the challenge of working in a creative and dynamic educational environment.
The post holder will be assigned to the 3D Making team in the Reid workshop supporting students from across the school (including undergraduates and postgraduates in Fine Art, Design, Architecture, Innovation and Simulation and Visualisation).
The post holder will supervise and advise students in the pursuit of innovative solutions to creative ideas predominantly in metal, including the demonstration of the use of machinery, equipment, materials and processes in line with Health and Safety practices and regulations.
The post holder will also have a good standard of general education (HND or equivalent and have recognised industry qualifications in welding (at least C&G 3267 equivalent), and machining (NVQ Level 2) is desirable.
