Design History & Theory at The Glasgow School of Art invites applicants for a Lectureship in design history. As a Lecturer in this department, you will undertake an appropriate balance of teaching, assessment, course and programme development and related administration. This post is particularly focused on supervision and assessment of final year honours submissions in the form of text-based work at both 20 and 40 credit weightings.    

You will be qualified to PhD level or show evidence that a doctorate is imminent or have equivalent experience. You should have experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or PGT level within Higher Education and in particular of supervision and assessment of extended writing at BA Honours level, preferably within practice based design/visual arts programmes. You will also have excellent understanding of current debates, trends and issues, in your area of specialism and a good general knowledge of contemporary design history, theory, and practice.  Applicants are expected to have a developing profile of international excellence in research along with potential for attracting research funding.
