The Innovation School
at The Glasgow School of Art seeks an experienced, dynamic and highly organised
academic to act as Programme Leader for the Design Innovation Postgraduate (taught)
portfolio of degree awards. The successful applicant will lead a team of design
academics spanning both our Glasgow and Highlands campuses, as we develop
ground-breaking new programmes and awards.
You will ensure
programme delivery, oversee our annual International Winter School in the
Scottish Highlands and contribute to the debates around Design’s role in
contemporary and society and future forms of living.
This post requires
co-ordination and delivery of the curriculum, and ensuring a high quality
teaching and learning environment for all students. Responsibilities will
include assessment timetabling and oversight of annual programme monitoring
documentation, management and co-ordination of the academic team and achieving recruitment
targets.
You should possess
a postgraduate degree in a relevant design discipline, or be able to
demonstrate comparable academic or industry skills and experience. You will also have experience of teaching at postgraduate
level within Higher Education, and experience of curriculum development and the
management of academic delivery and personnel. You should have an exemplary
understanding of what constitutes a high quality learning and teaching
environment, and a thorough appreciation of the administrative and logistical
issues that underpin studio-based learning.
