The Research and Enterprise Department at Glasgow
School of Art (GSA) are seeking to appoint a Research Policy and Research
Excellence Framework (REF) Manager to play a lead
role in planning, preparing for and managing The Glasgow School of Art’s
submission to REF2021, and subsequent research assessment exercises.
You will take a lead role in the formulation
and implementation of relevant GSA policies and procedures to support a high
quality REF2021 submission, working closely with the REF Planning Group and
Head of Research and Enterprise. You will also contribute to future research
and knowledge exchange assessment initiatives, and play an important strategic
and operational role in developing GSA’s research community, environment and
projects.
The ideal candidate will be educated at least to degree
level, with significant relevant professional experience working in a Higher
Education (HE) research environment. You will also have an in-depth
understanding of the national framework for research assessment in the UK, with
detailed knowledge of REF2021 guidance, criteria and processes, as well as direct
experience of previous research assessment exercises, ideally in a research
support and/or management role.
You will be able to evidence strong organisational and
project management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as
well as having the ability to understand, interpret and convey complex ideas.

management role.
